Italia Design 2008
Learning about the roots of Italian Design within its own context. A year-long committment for a month and a half long trip to one of the top design destination. View the project site here.

What is it?
The Italia Field School is an ongoing project dedicated to Italian Design. This was a year long committment in which I collaborated with 13 other students in research, documentation, analysis and post production work for the information to be posted on the project website. We get to interview some of the world's greatest Italian designers like Andrea Branzi, Paolo Rizzato and Stefano Giovannoni to name a few.
How we did it
Understanding context was an important element so the group did pre-research on the history and culture of Italy as well as a crash course in Italian 100. During our month and a half long field school, we were able to practice in-field ethnographic studies on different Roman neighborhoods and Tuscan hilltowns. Everyday, we would visit both historical and modern sites to undertand places as a whole.
